About Us |

The Council’s Head Start program provides diverse services to meet the educational, health, parent, community, and social service needs of our children and families. We serve children between the ages of three and four, along with their families, all of whom are either at or below the federal poverty guidelines.
The Head Start Program operates 21 classrooms at our sites throughout Boone, Clay, Jackson, Wood, and Roane counties in West Virginia. Additionally we operate 74 classrooms through collaborations with the Boone (9), Clay (10), Putnam (11), Jackson (6), Roane (7), and Wood (14) Calhoun (4), Doddridge (4), Pleasants (4), Tyler (4), and Wirt (4) County Boards of Education. Twenty One collaborative classrooms are located at our sites and 77 collaborative classrooms are located at BOE sites. In total, we serve 662 additional four-year old children through this collaboration. A full 1508 three and four year old children are served through our agency and through our collaboration with our partners.
